Fans, pads and air inlets
Only what's on the diagram
Tunnel fans
RSV defaultEnd-wall exhaust fans used for full-speed summer cooling.
Default approx. 36,000
Dirty shutters and worn belts each cost about 10% of nameplate airflow.
Used with manufacturer fan curves when a curve is provided.
Minimum ventilation fans
RSV defaultAuto-sized for cold-weather minimum ventilation. Edit count or capacity if your minimum-vent fan bank differs.
Recommended 0 fans - edit to override.
Default approx. 36,000
Cooling pads
RSV defaultWet pads pre-cool incoming tunnel air on hot, low-humidity days.
Default split - pads on both sides of the front so the wet area divides evenly.
Auto-sized, rounded to an even number to split on both sides.
Default 1.8 m.
Half the total wet area divided by pad height.
Thicker pads run faster air - the wet area is recalculated from this.
Air inlets specification
RSV defaultSized from side-fan capacity, or 25% of tunnel capacity when no side fans are installed.
Auto-sized - edit to override.
Default approx. 2,500
One side when side fans run on a single side; both sides otherwise.
Equals the total for one-side, half for both sides.
Your birds
- flock dataSets the weight reference curve used for sizing.
Sets the regional stocking-density limit used in warnings and reports.
Sets the weight curve variant used for estimates.
Target live weight per m² of floor. Broiler default 42 kg/m².
Used to read the target weight that sets the bird count. Default 30.
Auto-filled from marketing age and breed. Edit to recalculate the recommended bird count.
Auto-filled from density x floor area / weight at marketing age. Edit to override.
For optimal access at this bird count, provide 3,500 nipples on water lines and 539 feed plates on feed lines.
Auto-filled from the breed curve and age. Edit to override.
Reference Cobb-first grow-out flow.
